Purpose
The Fund is an Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) initiative which seeks to secure donations from the Australian community in order to pursue an alternative means of providing career opportunities for Indigenous Australians. Through select projects the Fund will expand and enhance the services of the AES.
Objectives
To secure donations from the Australian community to provide opportunities for Indigenous people to gain a career. The AES seeks to increase career outcomes for Indigenous people and to assist the inclusion of Indigenous people in the commercial world.
Fund Committee Purpose
The AES fund will have a committee which will comprise not more than 7 people including 2 board members. The committee will be managed by the Head of Fundraising and the purpose of this committee is to recommend costed projects for consideration to the CEO and AES Chairperson. This committee may source AES volunteers and AES friends to assist.
AES Fund Governance
The governance of the AES Fund committee will fall under the responsibility of the AES audit and risk committee.
As an authorised fundraiser the AES must maintain certain records including a cash book, register of assets and a minute book and is required to furnish documentation and information to the public including copies of annual financial accounts, a copy or extract from the constitution and details of the members of the governing body. In terms of cash donations, there will be a specific AES Fund account that will manage these donations. Each donation will generate a receipt to the donor. The Audit and Risk committee will manage and disperse these funds to approved projects or activities as required. Each quarter, this committee will provide a list of projects/activities that this fund has supported
